To encourage recycling, I researched the user journey during the recycling process to identify opportunities for improvement. What I discovered was that current bin designs don't work well for people living in smaller apartments or condominiums. Many residents of these types of home cite lack of convenience as to why they don't recycle.  To address this Compact incorporates a standard kitchen sized trash bin as well as a removable recycling bin. The bin has wheels and a handle to make trips to the recycling area easier. Also it has a compactor for the recyclables to increase the bins capacity.
